Where to find usin Magelang

The property sits along Jl. Mayor Kusen in Pabelan, part of Mungkid in Kabupaten Magelang. It is a working village setting rather than a tourist strip: fields and houses, a road that carries you towards the temples in one direction and Yogyakarta in the other.

That position is the practical argument for staying here. You are close enough to Borobudur for an early start, far enough from it to eat dinner without queueing, and on the right road for day trips in almost any direction.

Free private parking is available on site and does not need to be reserved, and accessible parking is available too. If you are arriving by car from Yogyakarta or Semarang, the property is straightforward to reach along the main road, and the turning is easier to spot in daylight than after dark.

Drivers and taxi apps generally know the road. If yours does not, call the house and somebody will talk them in.

Getting yourbearings

All distances below are approximate and drawn from different sources, so treat them as travel-planning guidance rather than exact measurements. Journey times depend on traffic, road works and which route your driver prefers, and the road towards Yogyakarta in particular can slow to a crawl at the end of the day.

Borobudur Temple
approximately 5 mi
A short drive west through Mungkid rather than a walk, and the reason most guests are here.
Mount Merapi
approximately 17 mi
The volcano that shapes the skyline and the soil, usually visited as a long half-day trip.
Yogyakarta Tugu Train Station
approximately 21 mi
The usual arrival point for guests coming by rail from Jakarta, Bandung or Surabaya.
Adisutjipto Airport
approximately 25 mi
The closer of the two Yogyakarta airports, handling mainly domestic services.
Prambanan Temple
approximately 29 mi
The great Hindu complex east of Yogyakarta, best combined with a full day out.

Arriving by air

Adisutjipto Airport
39 km
Domestic flights, closest to the property.
Yogyakarta International Airport
53 km
The main long-haul and international gateway.
Adisumarmo International Airport
67 km
An alternative approach from the Solo side.

Airport figures come from a separate source than the distances above, which is why the numbers do not line up precisely. We do not operate an airport transfer service, though car rental and a tour desk are available at the property and can usually sort out a driver for you.

Official visitorresources

Two nearby cultural sites publish their own visitor information. They are independent of the property, and their details change from time to time, so we point you at the source rather than paraphrase it here and let it drift out of date.

Getting in,getting settled

Check-in runs from 2:00 PM to midnight and check-out from midnight to noon. If your travel does not fit those hours, luggage storage is available so you can head out into the day rather than sit and wait for a room, or spend a last morning at the temples without dragging a suitcase behind you.

The property keeps CCTV in common areas, key card access to the rooms and security around the clock, which matters more than most guests expect on the night they arrive late from an airport with everything they own in one bag.

Rooms, dates and rates sit together on our reservations page. If you have a particular request, mention it while you reserve: special requests depend on availability and are easier to arrange in advance than on arrival.
